Never thought I would wear them again. These gorgeous looking babies were once my perfect companion on chilling winter and inevitable hurdles over icy walkways back China days. Thanks to the weather which is notoriously been cruel these days and wearing flats is one dreaded disaster while paving ways through unforgivable floods. So wearing them is more than an excuse, it has become my need. With dry toes and warmer back, enough reasons why I should add leather and boots in my rainy season list wardrobes.
Took me two weeks before slipping into this rebel kilt looking school girl look, not for reasons that I hate it but I was merely saving it for an important day – my first time ever trying a plaided bottom. Plaids are not new to me, would wear it if I want to feel easy breezy while running errands as long as it is a shirt/blouse/tops. But things turned around when I saw this DP skirt at Kai Plus’ website and after a while I said to myself there’s no harm on trying, so i ended up buying it anyway.
Originally the skirt was a bit bigger for my size, so i had it altered, raised a little higher on my waist for a curvier look which was not a bad idea after all because it has a thick waist band. The colors seems to compliment my body structure too, choosing not so striking hues like blue together with some splashes of gray, black and white will make you less heavy below. What to love as well is the silhouette, portions of the skirt were stitched upwards showing playful layers that somehow depicts a grunge school girl.
Bought the top from Candy at Robinsons department store in Festival Mall Alabang as a result of my sheer frustration on a Herve Ledger look-a-like dress, good thing the sleeveless was not only so chic to look at because of the eye-catching gold studs but it was on sale also for 50% that day. Cut was tailor fit, color was also what I wanted – it was a good buy.
Lastly, What’s more so rockin’ with this outfit is the rebirth of my good old college leather boots which I had 7 years ago. I immediately thought of using my ankle leather boots because it simply fits and compliments my ensemble. Its shiny black, bad-ass thick squared 2inch heels, gorgeously rough and totally for hard core walking – yes I was considering the rainy weather that time.
