As a southern belle, I couldn’t let it pass not to check again Vivere’s Sky Lounge restaurant. Here’s a review behind this most talk about place right in the city where I live.
Food: Buffets are expected to be big, heavy and massive, even if it is for breakfast. And good thing Sky Lounge didn’t disappoint us. When we dined they served at least 10 various dishes as their main dish in the restaurant’s center hall with an egg station on its right. In the left side is an enclosed function room that has another set of buffet tables that serves hot soups, salads, all kind of pastries from cookies, breads, pancakes, waffles to english muffins, fruits and cold treats like yogurt. It was overwhelming. I hit first on some pastries; smiled from ear to ear when I noticed that they had walnuts and blueberries – syrup wasn’t extremely sweet, just perfect on my taste! My top picks were Hungarian sausages and beef bistek tagalog, Sausages must try, they are not saggy and has enough spicy kick. Also the bistek is equally sumptuous. Not to sweet not to salty, it was not swimming in oil to. The beef was perfectly tender! Only regret was the fruit selection, hope they had more fruits served that day.
Value: 750 / head is fairly priced in any hotel restaurants in the metro. But honestly, it is not something that hubby and I can willingly splurge twice a week or even in a month. If you have extra cash to spend, go and try it – food is not bad after all.
Service: They politely greet guests, lead and ensures that they get seated nicely. But the bummer part, they are less attentive in cleaning / getting used plates out and asking if there’s anything else you still want. For me what was lacking is the sense of connection from the crew and where service should be in its finest not on mediocrity.
Atmosphere: Airy and so relaxed. One thing we really liked about this place are the magnificent views you can get while dining. Settled in the heart of Alabang and in the 34th floor of the hotel, Sky Lounge has the best view of hustling business districts and Laguna de Bay that surrounds the hotel. With wide open windows and doors it entice guests to take closer moments to feel over the top – closer to the edge scenery of Alabang and its neighboring cities. Definitely the highlight of the day and it is more stunning at night.
Verdict: ❤❤ – Still considering on going back.
